Interact Worldwide puts equality, fairness and human dignity for all people, especially the poorest and most marginalised, at the centre of its work. We work in an integrated way to advance sexual and reproductive health and rights, improve maternal health and address HIV/AIDS in some of the poorest countries in the world.
This is because healthy, sustainable families, communities and nations can only be built upon the inalienable ability of individuals, including young people, to act out their sexual and reproductive health rights. This includes their rights to accurate information, to be free from sexual coercion and violence, to use condoms to protect themselves from pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, to decide freely on the number and spacing of their children and to access essential maternal health and HIV/AIDS services and medicines.
In 2008 Interact has taken its work to new heights and consolidated a rights based approach which links information, awareness and the delivery of services and commodities in the community with technical support, scrutiny and advocacy at the local, national and international levels. But it also advances sustainable development through equitable, evidence based approaches and a well informed civil society which can hold governments and insitutions to account.
